about

"Kagome kagome" is a traditional children's song that has been sung since the Edo period. One child sits in the middle while the others sing and dance around in a circle, and the child in the middle has to guess who is standing behind them when the song is finished. It is very similar to "Ring around the Rosie" in the English speaking world. The origins and meanings of the song are unknown, and some say there is a mystical connotation. For this album, the song is played in a jazz-style, dancing around different keys to convey the playfulness of the song.
